Alexandra Biss

Alexandra is an experienced non-profit strategist, seasoned hospitality professional, and high-impact board relations leader, expanding transformational relationships across the table, the board room and virtual platforms. Leading at DIG with enthusiasm, curiosity, and attention to detail, Alexandra puts relationship-building – with staff, volunteers, donors, board members, audiences and other stakeholders – at the center of her business strategy.

During her thirteen-year tenure at Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), one of the world's premier cultural institutions, Alexandra successfully increased board engagement, retention, and giving, ensuring achievement of a multi-million-dollar board giving goal each year. In collaboration with senior leadership, Alexandra led strategic planning, board development, and governance initiatives across the organization through multiple staff and board leadership transitions. Alexandra is well versed in financial operations, business process management, and project planning, empowering her to deliver effective and efficient solutions to stakeholders.

Alexandra is a classically trained violinist, wine and oyster enthusiast, and passionate advocate for LGBTQ+ mental health. 

Born and raised in Burlington, Vermont, Alexandra graduated summa cum laude with a degree in anthropology from Barnard College, Columbia University.
